THE ORIGINALS

In 1982, Karen Bystedt called Andy Warhol’s Factory and was invited to photograph him for her book on male models. The negatives were lost for over twenty years until they resurfaced in 2011, sparking a new chapter in pop art history.

Rediscovering her photos, Karen began collaborating with artists worldwide to reinterpret one of her iconic images. Each partnership became a new conversation between eras, mediums, and creative minds.

"

Rediscovering my Warhol negatives opened a new chapter of collaboration.

Artists from around the world infused their unique styles into my photographs, reflecting the same inclusivity and creative exchange Andy championed.

As the digital era unfolded, platforms like Instagram transformed art into a shared language: accessible, diverse, and boundaryless.

The Lost Warhols collection celebrates this spirit...it's a fusion of mediums, voices, and visions that embody originality, diversity, and connection.
